Quilengues - At least 23 people died of cholera in Quilengues district, southern Huila province since October this year, Angop learnt.

The head of the provincial department of health and control of endemics, Judith Rocheta, said that the illness re-appeared on October 01, having the death resulted from a total of 68 cases recorded.

Poor basic sanitation, lack of drinking water and constant heavy rains in the region are the cause of the outbreak.
