Luanda - Angolan Foreign minister, Assunção do Anjos, received Thursday, on behalf of president José Eduardo dos Santos, the farewell greetings of the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Algeria, at the end of his 4-year mission.
According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, due to his agenda, President dos Santos was unable to receive the farewell greetings of algerian ambassador Toufik Danmani, and instructed minister Assunção dos Anjos for due process.
On the occasion, the algerain diplomat reaffirmed his country's commitment to work towards strengthening relations of cooperation and friendship with Angola.
“The links between Angola and Algeria are historical, dating back to the struggle for national liberation and now we are determined to strenghten them in all areas”, said the Algerian ambassador.
Toufik Dahmani wished his country's work to contribute to economic progress and social development of Angola, strengthening the bonds of cooperation linking the two countries.
Angola and Algeria have relations of cooperation in the fields of oil, education and training services, among others.
