Luanda - The minister of Hotels and Tourism, Pedro Mutindi, said Friday in Luanda that the Angolan government is working very hard on improving the sector, and plans in the long term to contribute to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) with at least USD 4.7 billion annually as from 2020.
Speaking at the opening of the Third Seminar on Licensing of Hotels and Similar Sector, Pedro Mutindi said that it is an intention of the Executive, within the next eight years, to achieve the goal of 4.6 million tourist arrivals and create one million jobs, which implies more work and commitment by the health professionals.
"The executive is to gather all the necessary conditions for the practice of tourism, starting with the economic stabilization, construction of roads, bridges, airports and railways, for a sustainable and inclusive development of the sector, based on the diversification of sources of revenue for the country," said the Cabinet minister.
He noted that the sector has grown considerably in recent times and that the approval of the Director Plan of Tourism of Angola and the creation of Tourist Poles of Kalandula (Malanje), Cabo Ledo (Luanda) and Okavango (Kuando Kubango) shows the political will of the Government in preparing the conditions for placing tourism in a place of respect.
