Hoteliers urged to abide by decree against children's sexual exploitation

Luanda – The managers of hotels and tourism resorts were urged to strictly  comply with the tourist decree against sexual exploitation of children, which was signed in  Luanda between the ministers of Hotels and Tourism, Pedro Mutindi, and of Social Welfare,
João Baptista Kussumua, aimed at discouraging the sexual abuse of children.

According to the minister of Hotels and Tourism, Pedro Mutindi, children are a priority and  therefore they should be protected from all negative aspects in order to ensure their normal  growth and protect their rights.

“I call on country’s hotels and tourism industry to abide by the tourism code of conduct  against the sexual exploitation of children in Angola, as well as to remain alert in order to  report eventual child sexual abuses”, he said.

Meanwhile, the minister of Social Welfare, Baptista Kussumua, who also signed the decree,  said that the code is a legal document of extreme importance that mainly aims at safeguarding  the welfare of people, particularly of children, as human beings and people entitled to rights.
