Luanda – The Angolan state-owned airline company TAAG, was approved with very positive results on the test carried out by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), ANGOP has learnt from an official source.
The source regarded that assessment, made throughout last week, as positive, in spite of some unspecified items, which however do not affect the security of operations, since they can be resolved at short term.
The source revealed that this kind of exams included in the company's restructuring process, aims at identifying weaknesses and, on a first phase, should not influence in the European Union’s decision.
He remembered that only European Union (EU) has the power to withdraw or keep TAAG in the list of companies forbidden to operate in its air space.
The decision is in the hands of EU experts, who are expected to be in Luanda in June 08 for a five-day work visit, which includes meetings with the National Civil Aviation Institute (INAVIC) and TAAG to assess the performance of the latter, he revealed.
