Lubango - The Minister of Transports, Augusto da Silva Tomás, said on Monday in Matala district, southern Huíla province,that his sector will continue to work for the consolidation of the achieved deeds in 2002/2012 period in railways, air, road, maritime and fluvial domains.
The minister said so to the press while assessing advaces of the Ministry of Transport achieved in the last tem years.
According to him, it was recorded some improvements in various fields of the sector due to the gains of peace and national reconciliation.
He said that challenges of transport sector are huge and it is intended to promote more and more the sustainable development of the sector that should be seen in the five specific areas such as the railways, air, road, maritime and fluvial domains.
The minister said tha there are more dynamic sectors and with strong capitals in relation to others and thus it is needed to balance through the physical, human, technological and financial component, seeking the exercise projected by the government in various programmes and plans to be implemented gradually in the next 15 years.
According to the official, this means that Angola has been drafting policies in all domains at short, medium and long term, seeking conditions for self-sustainability without depending on external factors, with passive variables of disturbing the economic, social and productive development.
