Jamba – Seven new railway stations were inaugurated Monday in southern Huila province by the minister of Transport, Augusto da Silva Tomás, Angop learned.

The inaugurations were part of the Government’s effort to increase the supply of railway transports in that region of the country.

They are the first, second and third class stations of Mapunda, Arimba, Chanja, Dongo, Tuntum, Jamba and Carvalhais, under the Moçamedes Railway, covering a distance of 318 kilometres, from the province’s capital city (L8bango) to Jamba municipality.

The construction of the stations follows an investment under the global strategy of the country’s economic and social development.

On July 13 this year, minister Augusto Tomás inaugurated ten railway stations of the Luanda Railway (CFL), namely those of Lombe, Zanga, Cacuso, Cambuze, Quinzenga, Lucala, Ndalatando, Canhonca, Luinha and Ndalahui, on the stretch between the northern provinces of Kwanza Norte and Malanje.
