Transport Ministry concludes strategic plan


Luanda – The National Strategic Plan Draft of Accessibilities, Mobility and Transports (TENAMT) of the Ministry of Transports, which is already concluded, foresees five modal networks, including two railways and a national logistics grid.

 

This was said to Angop on by the Transport Minister, Augusto da Silva Tomás, during a seminar on reform and modernization of the railway sector, held on Monday in Luanda.

 

He said that the railways networks will be integrated by a national chain and other light mesh of Luanda.

 

Regarding the National Railway Network (RFN), the official highlighted the autonomous study conducted on the configuration of the road that will connect the new port of Barra do Dande to the new international airport of Luanda.

 

The minister said that the strategic plan is complemented by cabbotage in the northern region of the country, national freeways and logistics platforms with territorial coverage and connecting interfaces to ports and airports by road transports.

 

The seminar, which ended on Monday in Luanda, analysed and assessed, among other aspects, the institutional model of the railway sector, legislation, regulations and security of railway system.

 

Promoted by the National Railway Institute (INCFA), the meeting was witnessed by CEOs of the railway companies of Luanda, Benguela and Moçamedes.
