Luanda – The Minister of Transport, Augusto da Silva Tomás, left on Wednesday for Abuja, Nigeria, to attend on 19-20 the International Conference on Civil Aviation Operational Safety in Africa.


Speaking to Angop at Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro International Airport”, the minister said that the meeting is happening under the auspices of AU and Nigerian government and it aims to debate the current situation of the continent in this domain.


According to him, the situation must be reviewed in terms of operational safety of civil aviation companies that operate in African market and the regulating framework of different countries so as to elevate the African civil aviation at acceptable levels by the regulating traditional institutions.


The conference is preceded by a meeting of experts of civil aviation safety authorities, control agencies, international aviation organizations and Federal Administration of US Aviation (FAA).
