Minister stresses private participation in railway business

Luanda - The minister of Transport, Augusto da Silva Tomás, Monday, in Luanda, said that the reform of the railways, underway in the country, is a major milestone in the qualitative leap that will allow to implement structuring measures, including the participation of private enterprise in the railroad business.

According to the government official, who spoke at the opening of the seminar on reform and modernization of railways in Angola, the modification includes the ongoing implementation of new ways of management in the public railway domain.

Among the structural measures include the separation of rail activities from tabulation of results by independent activity.

He said the result of this process provides, for the first stage, that the separation of the results is made only in corporate accounting.
