Road accidents kill over 200 people in Kwanza Sul

Sumbe - At least 265 people were killed and 925 others  injured as a result of 841 road accidents in central province of Kwanza Sul in 2011, said the local Command of the National Police.


 
According to a National Police’s report that reached ANGOP, this is an increase of 25 road accidents, four killed and 12 injuries as compared to the same period of the previous year.

 

The causes behind the accidents were mainly drinking of alcohol, speed, pedestrians mistakes bad technical condition of vehicles and narrow roads in poor condition.


 
The accidents occurred in the districts of Sumbe, Porto-Amboim, Cela, Kibala, Libolo, Kassongue, Amboim, Seles, Mussende, Conda, Kilenda and Ebo.
