Huambo – At least 313 people were killed and another 914 injured as a result of 992 road accidents in central Huambo province from January to December this year, Angop learned Thursday.
According to an annual report from the provincial command of the National Police, the figures show a drop of 22 people killed and a reduction of 113 road accidents.
The report that reached Angop on Thursday, says 218 of those killed were motor-bike taxi
riders responding for 70 percent and 416 injured, representing 45 percent of people hit by
road accidents in the region.
The headquarters district of Huambo leads the list with 585 cases (-15), Caála with 147
(-07), Londuimbali with 51 (-49), Katchiungo with 49 (+16), Tchicala-Tcholohanga with 31
(-06), Longonjo with 30 (+11), Ekunha with 21 (21), 21, Ukuma with 21) (+10) and Mungo
with 20 (+07).
