Lubango – The revenues yielded by the transport sector between 2008 and 2010 amounted to Akz 282 billion, said the incumbent minister, Augusto da Silva Tomas, on Thursday in Lubango, southern Huila province.

Speaking at the opening of the 3rd Consultative Council of the Ministry of Transport, Augusto Tomas stressed that the figure corresponds to a positive operating profit of Akz 13,4 billion.

The minister said this profit enabled to increase the number of workers from 15,577 to 15,819.

The 3rd Consultative Council is going with the theme “Transports in Number” and will end on Friday.

The meeting was attend by national directors, chairmen of boards of directors, senior officials and workers of the Ministry of Transport.
