Luanda – Angolan ambassador to China, João Manuel Bernardo, inaugurated in Beijing the new offices of the Angolan Air Lines (TAAG), in an act which counted on the presence of diplomats and representatives of Chinese air companies.
During the act, the ambassador stressed that “the simple act of cutting the ribbon involves a profound meaning by symbolizing the crowning of hard work and dedication from various national and international personalities” for their materialisation of this intention.
He reminded that TAAG, already flying the skies of the People’s Republic of China since 2008, has become a world and national reference, serving as an axis in the process of national reconciliation.
TAAG delegate in Beijing, António Inácio da Silva, spoke about the history of TAAG through its evolution stages, since its foundation in 1938, becoming member of “IATA” in 1968 until its transformation to “Angolan Airlines” (1974), during the eve of the proclamation of the national independence, on 11 November of 1975.
