Luanda – A Boeing 737-800 jetliner of Kenyan Airways, flying a multi-sectoral delegation arrived Tuesday morning in Luanda, marking the naugural flight that will connect the cities of Nairobi (Kenya) and Luanda (Angola).
The aircraft, which will operate twice a week namely on Tuesdays and Fridays, has a capacity of 150 seats, 108 in economic class and 42 executive.
The Angolan ambassador to Kenya, Ambrósio Lukoki, and the minister of Southern African Communities of that East African country, Peter G. Munya, were among the first passengers.
The opened route, to be jointly operated by Kenya Airways and Angolan Airline TAAG, is part of bilateral understanding in transport branch between the two countries, to be signed on Tuesday afternoon in Luanda.
Attending the inaugural ceremony, in representation of the government were, vice-minister of Territory Administration, Graciano Domingos, official of National Institute of Civil Aviation (INAVIC), Celso Rosas, the local director, Joaquim Cunha and diplomats.
While Kenya was represented by chairperson of Board of directors of the Kenya Airways, Titus Naikuni, high-ranking officials and executives of the referred companies and members of Kenyan diplomatic mission accredited in the Southern African country.
