Luanda – The Angolan Government plans to refound and re-launch Secil Maritima, as a company of national flag in order to mitigate the cost of shipping goods into the country, considered high when compared with regional partners - Namibia, South Africa and
Mozambique.
According to the chairperson of the Council of directors of Secil Maritima, Filomeno Silva, who was speaking Tuesday at the seminar on “The contract of transport, freight and sea freight”, this commitment of the Angolan Government will ensure a better deal on shipping of
goods into the country.
In the 1990, Angola was one of Africa’s countries with largest fleets of ships engaged in international marine merchant, predominantly for companies Angonave and Secil Maritima.
