Luanda - The National Shipowners Council (CNC) launched Monday in Luanda a portal and the National Freight Stock (BNF) to keep port community and public informed.
With this medium, whose Internet site is “www.cnc.com”, local importers will be able to know the date of arrival of ships in the country, their names and position on the coast, within 60 miles (110 kilometres) of distance from the port of call.
They will also be in a position to negotiate with shippers, as costs of freights to Angola are very high.
Currently, the public only have information about the Luanda and Lobito ports, but additional information on Namibe, Cabinda and Soyo ports will be made available.
According to CNC director, Francisco Agostinho Itembo, importers and members of the public have information available that will facilitate their freight bargaining.
Francisco Itembo said he believes that freight to Angola, one of the world’s most expensive, will get reduced thanks to this new service.
