Luanda – The new public transport company Afri-taxi is investing USD 20 million in the purchase 500 vehicles for individual taxi service, said the coordinator of the Installation Commission of the public-private company, José Manuel Rasak.
According to the source, who was speaking on Sunday to ANGOP, during the inauguration ceremony of the International Airport “4 de Fevereiro”, from the amount about USD 12 million were used on the purchase of 300 vehicles and other technical means that will be used in the host cities of CAN/2010 Orange-Angola.
Luanda city received 150 cars, while the remaining 150 will be distributed into the cities of Cabinda, Benguela and Lubango.
The services of Afri-taxi at the airport will officially start in the beginning of January, when the new structures begin to operate. The taxis will start operating from 6am to 8pm.
