Benguela
National Police destroys over 20,000 marijuana plants


Benguela – A total of 26,500 marijuana plants were burnt this weekend, in the central Benguela province, by the local command of the National Police.

 

According to the director of the provincial department of Study, Information and Analysis of the Provincial Command, the superintendent Bartolomeu Kachota, from the drugs, 22,000 plants were found in gardens of Bocoio district, about 4,000 in Balombo and the remainder in Ganda.

 

Bartolomeu Kachota stated that the drugs found belong to a couple of peasants, whose wife is under arrest and the husband is at large.

 

He added that the peasants produced the drug for sale in various provinces of the country, therefore he appealed to the population to denounce this type of act.
