Luanda - Catholic Church's dioceses of Angola and São Tomé on Sunday, in Luanda, offered the Pontiff various sculptures as a way to thank the Holy Father for his first visit to the African continent.
The Pope received sculptures with designs like the map of Angola and the giant sable antelope, among others.
After receiving the gifts and thanking the gesture, Benedict XVI was cheered by the crowd, who attended the open-air mass, and closed the gathering that congregated about three million faithful.
The mass was also attended by government officials, MPs, members of the diplomatic body accredited in Angola and representatives of the civil society.
Sunday afternoon, the Pope is meeting with female catholic movements in Santo António church, in Luanda, where he will deliver a message for Angolan mothers.
The Pontiff is scheduled to return to the Vatican on Monday morning.
