Tocoist church's cathedral unveiled in Luanda

Luanda – The Cathedral of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World Church (Tocoist church), based in the urban district of Kilamba Kiaxi in Luanda, was inaugurated on Friday by the Culture Minister, Rosa Cruz e Silva, in representation of the President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos.

 

 

 

The inauguration act started with the performance of the national anthem followed by the opening of the plaque and a monument comprised by the symbols of Tocoist church.

 

 

 

The infrastructure, built in medieval style, started in 2001 and comprises all modern architectural aspects and it has the capacity to seat 30.000 faithful.

 

 

Estimated at USD 30.0 million, the Cathedral of Tocoist church is cosidered to be the greatest one in the Southern Africa and it makes proud all Angolans because the undertaking was praised by several religious leaders, politicians and cabinet officials.

 

 

The act was witnessed by nearly 60.000 faithful of the referred church, officials of the Angolan executive, representatives of political parties and guests.
