Religious leaders urged to strengthen call for civility at polls

Ndalatando - The governor of Kwanza Norte province, Henrique Júnior, today called on the church leaders based in the region to cooperate with the Executive in the tasks of mobilizing citizens for the observance of civility and tolerance during the 31 August general election.

 
The governor made the appeal during a meeting he held with religious leaders, asking them to, in their preaching, advising citizens to envisage the elections as a milestone in the consolidation of peace and democracy.
 

Henrique Junior said he hoped the religious leaders of the province to engage in moralizing the faithful in order to turn the elections into a time of celebration and harmony.
 

"Given the importance of the political moment that is approaching, I ask the cooperation of the churches to strengthen the appeal to civic pride, patriotism and respect for difference during the election campaign," asked the governor.
