Luanda – Angola’s Planning minister, Ana Dias Lourenço, Friday in Luanda said that the pilot census, expected to take place in six provinces of the country, will pose the first major challenge to test all organizational machine and its tools.
The Cabinet minister was speaking at the opening seminar jointly sponsored by the Ministries of Planning and Territorial Administration, with the provincial governors on the Census of Population and Housing 2013.
According to the minister, in order to ensure successful task at the level of provincial, municipalities and communes headquarters, it requires to equip the administrative and technical areas with human and material resources.
“The United Nations recommends the countries to conduct census at least every ten years. Angola does not hold census of population and housing since 1970”, stressed the official.
Attended the event minister of Territory Administration, Bornito de Sousa, provincial governors, technicians of national statistics institute, representatives of National police, among others.
