Ministers discuss population census

Luanda – The Ministry of Planning and Territory Administration discusses this Friday, in Luanda, in a meeting with provincial governments, the process of Population and Housing Census (RGPH2013), happening in 2003.

During the meeting to be led by minister Ana Dias Lourenço (Planning) and by minister Bornito de Sousa (Territory), the process of setting up the local technical commissions (provincial, municipal and communal) for the preparation and organisation of the census will be launched.

The census was programmed by the Angolan government with the aim of getting essential indicators which allow the counting and characterisation of residents, as well as the research on the housing potential and type of living conditions, according to law Nº19/11.

With the organisation of RGPH-2013, the government will improve the public policies on health, education, housing and welfare, among others.

For the month of September this year it is expected the organisation of Pilot Census, to be held in Luanda, Namibe, Huambo, Kuando Kubango, Uige, Cunene and Kwanza Norte.
