Governors told to cooperate in population census

Luanda – Angolan minister of Territory Administration, Bornito de Sousa, Friday in Luanda appealed to the provincial governors to cooperate with body tasked to arrange the population census, scheduled for 2013.


Bornito de Sousa made the appeal while speaking at the opening seminar jointly sponsored 

by the ministries of Planning and Territorial Administration, with the provincial governors on the Census of Population and Housing 2013.


The official also said the governors will focus on setting up municipality and communal units still this year as preparation for the big challenges ahead of population and housing census.


“At the end of the country's 2012 election process, the country will embark on preparation of general census of population and housing as the fundamental task", he said.


The activity is being coordinated by National Statistics Institute and organs created under presidential decree.
