Luanda – The actions for the success of Angola’s population census estimated at Usd 80 million, require communication and training of the beneficiaries.
This was said Friday in Luanda by the Angolan Planning minister, Ana Dias Lourenço.
She was speaking during a visit she paid to the Central Office of Census (GCC), under the National Institute of Statistics (INE), to learn about the work being done, as part of the preparation for the General Population Census and Housing (RGPH/2013).
According to the official, the pilot census will be conducted this year in six of the country’s 18 provinces, where two municipalities will be chosen for the purpose in view of an operation estimated at Usd 80 million.
During a meeting with the census coordinators, the minister informed that census is the most complex statistics operation institutes conduct, hence the permanent contacts the ministry has been having with INE board, with quarterly reports on the process.
The Angolan Government has engaged in the preparation of the General Population Census and Housing (RGPH-2013), under an operation that includes gathering, compilation, evaluation, analysis and publication of demographic and socio-economic data The operation is intended to find out the real structure of the country’s population and the workforce, its geographic distribution and priority investment areas.
With this, the Government will be in a position to improve its public policies on health, education, housing, social security and others.
