Mass Media minister unveils Angop branch in Uige

 

Uíge - The Angolan Minister of Social Communication, Carolina Cerqueira, Wednesday, re-inaugurated the branch of the Angolan News Agency (ANGOP-EP) in the northern Uíge province.


Angop learnt that this re-inauguration is part of the strategic plan of ANGOP-EP, so as to expand its services.


The infrastructure was completely rehabilitated and equipped with new equipment, especially computers, furniture and technical materials, aiming to provide better working conditions to the local professionals of ANGOP-EP, and thus serve the population with rigour and exemption.


After the cutting of ribbon, Carolina Cerqueira and her delegation toured the facilities of Angop, sided by the provincial governor of Uíge, Paulo Pombolo.
 

The media delegation was briefed on the re-inaugurated infrastructure by the provincial delegate of Angop, Santos Garcia Kiala.

 
Speaking to the press at the end of the activity, the cabinet official said that the executive is working hard in order to expand Angop services and turn the social communication into modern, acting and factual, and thus meet the population’s aims.


She called for journalists to reflect on what the population wants and the benefits through the efforts made by the Angolan executive, whose work covers the current and future generations.


On his turn, the CEO of Angop-EP, Manuel da Conceição, said that with the re-inauguration of this building, the local professionals will have better working conditions.


Manuel da Conceição said that the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures of provincial branches are part of the strategic plan of Angop and its implementation is due to the efforts made by the executive, which has been contributing direct or indirectly so that the plan make come true.


He also highlighted the efforts made by the Angolan executive, Ministry of Social Communication and managing board of Angop, requesting all users of its services to be sensitive in cooperating in the protection of equipment and infrastructure.
 

The re-inauguration ceremony was attended by Governor Paulo Pombolo, minister, Carolina Cerqueira, Agriculture Minister, Afonso Pedro Kanga, Vice-minister for Geology and Mining, Mankenda Ambroase, officials of central and local government, provincial director for media, Andeiro João and other guests.
