Institute registers cases of forced children labour

Cazenga – The director of the National Children’s Institute (INAC) in Cazenga District, Ananias da Costa, said that the institution receive daily complaints from children who are forced by their parents to work in brick factories, warehouses and markets.

According to the official, these children involve in labour activities instructed by their parents, so these children earn the  money that supports the family and are stopped from going to school.

Ananias da Costa said that many of these children are working in warehouses due to the high competition in products sales in those locations.

The INAC official said that due to poor finances of many families, children are forced to work to help in the household expenses.
