Former combatants among sector's priorities

Ondjiva - Angolan minister of Former Combatants and Motherland Veterans, Kundi Paihama said that the priority of his sector goes to the former combatants, elderly and other needy, reflected in the increase of pensions.


Kundi Paihama, who was speaking to Angop, in Ondjiva city, southern Cunene province, said that at the moment the priority will go to the blind, disabled and the lame former combatants.


The government minister stressed that the registration process will start countrywide, covering compatriots in these conditions.


The process will help to know the exact number and establish the increase accordingly  with the procedures Kundi Paihama said that the issue has already been forwarded to Cabinet Council for its analysis and approval, as well as its implementation.


During his two-day stay in Cunene, the minister of Former Combatant and Motherland Veterans met with local government officials and closed the second phase of training on entrepreneurship.


The minister also handed over houses to the former combatants in Caxila III ward, outskirts of Ondjiva city.
