Government programmes focuses children - Minister Kussumua

Cabinda – The chairman of the National Children Council and Minister of Welfare and Social Reintegration, João Baptista Kussuma, said on Saturday that Angola ratified the Convention on Children’s Rights and the government is fully committed to its implementation, putting the Angolan minors in the centre of its attentions and programmes.

The minister said so during the main event aimed to celebrate the African Children’s day, marked on June 16.

The official said that the executive has been implementing over the last ten years a more appropriate social agenda with the political and economic development of the country, regarding the protection and defence of children’s rights.

To the minister, the African Children’s Day is a reflection date on the commitment of the Angolan government to the attainment of common objectives for the creation of a more promising future for the current and next generations.
