Angolan chefs at international gastronomy contest

Yeosu – The chefs of the Angolan Mufete restaurant, Francisco Borges and David Bravo, are participating in the international gastronomy competition, taking place from 12 June to 31 July in Expo 2012, promoted by Spanish pavilion.


The event counts on the participation of 13 chefs from different countries, namely Spain, Peru, Angola, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, DR Congo, Uruguay, Argentina, Guatemala, Colombia, Italy and China.


According to the organisers, the project aims to create an opportunity of taste food that reflects on different cultures, flavour and socialisation, giving an opportunity to share experiences, tastes, knowledge and new relations that enables to learn about the cultural diversity through food.


The Angolan chefs are competing in the event with typical food named mufete.


Angola has huge diversity of food internationally known such as muamba de galinha, calulu de peixe, mufete, muamba de ginguba, among others.
