Minister satisfied with Angola's participation in families meeting

Rome – Angola has had a positive participation in the 7th World Summit of Families held from May 30 to June 3 this year in Milan, Rome.

This was said Thursday in Rome by Angolan minister of Family and Women Promotion, Genoveva Lino.

The official was speaking at a meeting with the Angolan community in Rome, organised by ambassador Pascalina Vieira.

According to the minister, the meeting brought important contributions to the policies on the family the Government of Angola has been implementing.

Meanwhile, during the meeting, the national director for Family Policy, Antonio João, told the members of the community about the policies the ministry has been implementing, particularly those concerning the Programme of Retrieval of Values, Family Competences and Law against Domestic Violence passed in June 2011.

The Angolan ambassador to the Vatican, Armindo do Espirito Santo, that hosted the meeting attended by students, catholic priests and diplomats, thanked the minister for her availability to talks to the community.

The Angolan delegation to the meeting comprised 150 delegates, including minister Genoveva Lino, MPs, three prelates and couples representing various provinces of the country.
