Media Nova group pleased with government support to private press

Benguela – The administrator of "Media Nova" group, Filipe Correia de Sá, expressed Wednesday satisfaction over the way the Angolan government assists the growth of private mass media in the country.

Filipe Correia de Sá was speaking after the signing of protocol of cooperation and exchange of news services with the Portuguese news agency (Lusa), held in southern Benguela province.

During the ceremony, that was attended by deputy minister of parliamentary affairs of Portugal, Miguel Relvas, and Angolan minister of Social Communication, Carolina Cerqueira, the official said that the signing of protocol brings to the practice the support announced by the Angolan Mass Media minister aimed at ensuring  the development of private press.

He acknowledged that the agreement should give further impetus and support to the private media sector in Angola, reason why the message of the Executive now takes expression.

The New Media Group, the largest private project in Angolan media, is the holder of TV Zimbo, Radio Mais, Weekly O Pais, Exame and Chocolate magazines.
