IDA to assist rural families in agricultural season

 Ondjiva – At least 91 families of peasants in the province of Cunene will be assisted in the 2010/2011 agricultural season due to start next November, Angop learnt from the chief of the department of Agrarian Development Institute (IDA), Profiro Samanehulu.


 
According to the official, the assistance to the families is divided into two programmes namely extension of rural development and agriculture promotion, providing an output of 72,000 tons of assorted cereals.

 

Profiro Samanehulu said that for the campaign there have bee prepared 175.000 hectares of land and the farmers will receive agriculture in-puts such as fertilizers, hoes, machetes and plough in the six districts of the province.
