Luanda – The president of the Women's International Democratic Federation (WIDF), Marcia Campos, left Luanda today rejoiced with the results achieved by the regional conference of the organization held on July 29-30 in the angolan capital.
Speaking to Angop, Marcia Campos stated that although the Luanda conference was planned only as a WIFD statutory conference, the participants ended up discussing very important issues like woman job insertion and the combat against Aids.
According to the WIDF president, the outcome of the meeting proves the maturity of the organization which is becoming stronger and more active towards the achievement of its goals, namely the conquest and defense of equal rights and the woman access to all levels and domains of the familiar, social, cultural, economic and political life, eliminating all forms of discrimination.
The conference attended by more than 200 angolan and foreign delegates discussed the strenghtening of african female leaderships in health, education, social, economic, science, technology and rural woman development.
The participants identified specific working areas, within the african woman decade (2010-2020) approved by the Africa Union, taking into account the celebrations of the Beijing+15, the platform of action in 2015 and exchanged views on future joint actions.
WIDF is a non-governamental established in 1945 and the angolan Ruth Neto is the vice-president since 2002, now in her 2nd and last term.
