Media minister visits "Edições Novembro"

Luanda – The Angolan minister of Social Communication, Carolina Cerqueira, visited on Thursday the premises of “Edições Novembro” publishing house, to introduce herself to the employees and learn about the working conditions in that public media organ.

On the occasion, the media official toured the various departments of the State- run organ that owns the public daily newspaper “Jornal de Angola”, having called the attention of journalists and other professionals to the need for  changing attitude and thus improve their daily services.

The Media minister appealed for a bigger effort on the part of managers to continue working hard for the daily paper to reach all corners of the country.

In his turn, JA Information director, Filomeno Manaças, said that the contact with the minister served to discuss issues related to “Jornal de Angola” and will enhance production.

Carolina Cerqueira’s visit is part of a programme of her introduction and assessment of the functioning of public media organs which she is carrying out since her inauguration as minister on February 5, 2010.

Besides the “Edições Novembro” facilities, the Social Communication minister has already visited the State-run “Radio Nacional de Angola” (RNA) and “Televisão Publica de Angola” (TPA) stations.
