Luanda - Angolan women have been playing an active and fundamental role in the development of the country.
This was said Friday in Luanda by the minister of Family and Women Promotion, Genoveva Lino.
The minister was speaking about the Angolan women’s role in decision making organs.
According to her, the Angolan society would fail to gain the support it currently has, were not for women active participation.
She recalled that besides their procreating and educating role, women are also the main support of the family and society.
The minister said that the support results from a great and long fight, resulting in a men’s major awareness of women’s rights.
To her, currently men have been exercising a major companionship toward women in professional, economic, political and social spheres.
However, the minister said there has been still some domestic violence and conflicts within the family.
