Luanda - The information director of the State-run Angola News Agency (Angop), Luisa Damião, on Thursday here highlighted the work done by the Forum of woman journalists for gender equality to accomplish the ‘’Challenging the Silence Campaign’’, towards the fight against domestic violence.

Luisa Damião said so while presenting the theme ‘’The Role of Mass Media in the Fight against Domestic Violence: The Angolan Case, at the international conference for the closing of the first stage of the Challenging the Silence.

According to her, across 2008, the Forum of woman journalists launched the campaign of fight against domestic violence and currently is here showing that it has broken barriers and silence.

"The seriousness, mainly the intense and reprehensible professionalism that the friends of this forum took this project makes us calm, meaning that it will produce the wished goals", she said.

This project, she said, awakens all the society and galvanizes, particularly the journalists, the idea of contributing to the fight against violence, and helping breaking the silence.
