Luanda – The Angolan minister of Family and Woman Promotion, Genoveva Lino, said Friday in Luanda, that the 945 cases of denial of paternity recorded in the country in 2009, are concerning the Government, as their are sources of violence within families.
The official said so at the closing of the first meeting among parents of various generation, to hail the World Father Day, March 19.
Genoveva Lino said that some situations that often occur within families, motivated by irresponsibility, translated in 945 cases of denial of paternity, constitute 10,6 percent of domestic violence as a whole in 2009.
The minister said that in parallel to these occurrences, there are atypical cases in the family relations, which shows a crisis of values within the society.
Among the atypical cases, the minister mentioned the complicity and indifference on the part of people to incorrect attitudes that run against ethics, moral and civility.
The cases of sexual abuse of minors in which the authors are parents or any member of the very family, exaggerated intake of alcohol, mainly among the youths, are other manifestations of crisis of values in the society, she added.
According to the official, the Ministry of Family is watchful and determined to moralise the society and families, through the implementation of the Angola Solidarity Programme, based on a set of actions aimed at the retrieval of moral and ethic values.
The event was attended by Government members, representative of the civil society, NGOs, churches and guests, with stress to the deputy minister of Family. Ana Paula Neto, the director of National Institute of Children (INAC), Ruth Mixinji and other guests.
