Over 400 agricultural fields destroyed by rains in Cunene

Ondjiva – At least 425 agricultural fields were destroyed in southern Cunene province, following the heavy rains hitting the region since this month, Angop has learnt.


The executive co-ordinator of the commission of civil protection in Cunene, Joaquim Domingos said that the situation is worrying as it put at risk the current agricultural season.


The government has been working to lessen the situation of the peasant families.


This is the third consecutive year of floods in the province, that affected more than 12,000 citizens, being that 5,805 students are out of school.
