FMEA receives USD 96, 000 for training programmes for young girls

Luanda – The Japanese government handed over Thursday to Angola Business Women Federation (FMEA) USD 96,000, aimed at supporting the  organisation in implementing practical training projects for young women in Gabela District, central  Kwanza Sul Province.

The amount is a donation that counts on the co-operation of the United Nations Development Programme (PNUD) to finance projects aimed at purchasing sewing machines, two industrial machines and sewing materials.

The fact is stated at a Donation Contract for the Assistance of Community Projects (APC) signed Thursday between Angola Business Women Federation (FMEA) and the Japanese Embassy, at the Family and Women Promotion Ministry, as part of the “March Women” activities.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Japanese ambassador to Angola Kazuhiko Koshikawa said that the Angolan society needs well trained women to speed up the development of the country.

Meanwhile, the chairwoman of Angola Business Women Federation (FMEA), Maria do Carmo Nascimento, thanked the gesture, stressing the engagement of Japan Embassy in the materialisation of the agreement.
