Ondjiva - The water and energy director in southern Cunene today said that the "Water for All" project is significantly improving water supply in the province rural areas.
Addressing the "World water day", to be marked on March 22, Bonifácio Kaupo said that the project has significantly enhanced drinkable water supply to the community stating that since its beginning in 2008 it allowed the rehabilitation of 124 groudwater holes and the drilling of 40 new ones with a pumping subsystem from the source to the fountains.
The national "Water for All" project expects for Cunene province five small water systems, the drilling of 144 new holes and rehabilitation of other 124.
In urban areas the project expects the construction of a water conduct from Cunene river, the building of a water collection and treatment system in Oipembe and Chana de Carioco and the Calueque project will will allow the consumption of cleaner water, after its conclusion in 2011.
