Rain destroys 500 houses in Alto Zambeze

Cazombo – About 500 houses were destroyed as result of heavy rains registered lately in Alto Zambeze district, Moxico province, Angop learnt Tuesday from Civil Protection Commission deputy municipal co-ordinator, Anibal Muquindji.

 

In an interview to Angop, the source pointed Cazombo municipal district and localities situated 50 kilometres south off Muhaco, Lunachi, Cassombo and Luambo, the most affected by the rains.

 

Anibal Muquindji, who visited the affected areas, lamented the situation and said that “the rain will continue to fall consecutively for two weeks” and bridges over rivers Muhaco, Lunachi and Lupewe might collapse due to the rains.
