Commission for moral values retrieval set up in Balombo locality

Balombo – A 12-member commission for retrieval of moral and civic values was set up on Monday, in Balombo District, in the central Benguela Province.

 
According to a dispatch from the local municipal administrator, António Saraiva, the referred commission is co-ordinated by the municipal deputy administrator, Lúcia Chilepa Moisés and it is integrated by the heads of social, family and women promotion areas.


The heads of the sectors of education, assistance and social reintegration, CDI and civil registration, as well as the district commandant of the Angolan National Police, co-ordinator of the National Children Institute and the three commune administrators are also members of the commission.


The dispatch highlights that for the implementation of the campaign and achievement of the outlined goals, the commission will be assisted by some religious institutions and associations, such Catholic, Adventist, Tocoist, Good God, Baptist, Messianic, Pentecostal, Congregational Evangelic, Evangelic of the Southern region of Angola, Association of Friends and People born in Balombo District and Promaica.

 
ANGOP also learnt that this commission is aimed at retrieving the moral and civic values lost by other factors such as the long period of armed conflicts experienced by the country, the influence of globalisation and the dynamic of societies and families, based on campaign drafted by the Ministry of Family and Women Promotion.

 
According to the co-ordinator of the commission, Lúcia Chilepa Moisés, the first meeting will take place on Thursday and it is aimed at outlining strategies and methodologies of acting and defining goals and targets to be achieved.


The campaign is aimed for change of minds about bad attitudes and behaviours and creates conditions to secure the respect for social conduct norms that enable the societies to be more harmonious and stable.


The campaign will end in March 2011.
