Luanda – The Home Affairs Ministry (Minint) recognises the importance of the role played by the Angola Press Agency (Angop) in gathering, processing and distributing news locally and abroad.
This is contained in a Minint message of congratulation, on the occasion of Angop's 34th anniversary, on Friday (October 30).
According to the message, the Agency has excelled over the years in performing the role of informing the public about national and international events with engagements, dedication and professionalism.
Angop professionals have always done their best in fulfilling their initiatives, conveying to the national and foreign publics the reality of Angola and the world.
On the other-hand, Minint defends the need for the agency to continue with its effort to invest more in training its professionals and purchasing of technical equipment and technologic institutions.
The Angola Press Agency (Angop) is a public company of great dimension, endowed with juridical status and administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy.
ANGOP was established in Luanda in July 1975, having its first dispatch been released on October 30 the same year.
It has as its task to gather, process and distribute news items locally and abroad, based on an objective reporting on national and international reality.
