Luanda – The representative to Angola of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Bohdan Nahadjlo, guaranteed on Friday here that various international agencies will provide logistical assistance to Angolan refugees coming from the Republic Democratic of Congo (DRC).
Speaking to ANGOP, Bohdan Nahajlo revealed that the project counts on the participation of the United Nations Children’s fund (Unicef), International Organisation for Migration (IOM), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), World Health Organisation (WHO) among others.
“This group of agencies and other organisations which participate in the effort made by the international community to decrease the suffering of Angolans, went already to Zaire Province (north), where they made their first assessment of the situation in the place”, indicated the source.
According to the official, it is set in the northern Zaire Province the biggest camp of Angolans refugees, expelled from DRC, named “Mamã Rosa”.
Created in 1951, UNHCR has as main mission to grant international protection to refugees, as well as searching for lasting solutions to their problems.
