Luanda – Electric energy supply with regularity in Luanda will be secured during the Christmas and Year-end festival, said Monday the national director of Electricity Distribution Company of Luanda (EDEL), Paulo Matos.
Paulo Matos guaranteed it on the sidelines of a working visit paid by the Energy minister, Emanuela Vieira Lopes, to some EDEL’s power stations based in different zones of Luanda aimed at assessing the working conditions and the organizational system of power stations.
According to the official, in the referred period the Ministry of Energy outlines every year, a special monitoring and prevention programme in the area of energy distribution in order to avoid power cuts and other irregularities disrupting the normal functioning of electrical energy in Luanda.
The minister's delegation, made up of senior officials and other technicians, toured the power stations of Golf, with a installed power of 40 Mw, Talatona (80 Mw), Projecto Nova Vida (60 Mw), Zango (5Mw), Chicala (20 Mw), Maianga (100 Mw) and Mutamba (80Mw).
