Lobito - At least 70,000 people joined the voluntary testing of Hiv/Aids, in central Benguela province, between 2003 and October this year, on Saturday said the provincial supervisor of the programme of fight against the disease.
Perpetua Chalucua, who was speaking on the fringes of a fair called “Festivida”, an awarenss campaign against the sickness, added that out of the above mentioned number, 3,000 people tested positive.
The source added that the number of voluntary tests tends to increase, as a result of government's and partners efforts, mainly awareness campaigns that have been carried out in the province's nine districts, with highlight to Benguela and Lobito.
The fair aims at saluting the World Aids Day, December 1.
