Luanda - Participants to the episcopal conference of Angola and Sao Tome (CEAST) are debating since friday in Luanda the priestly year, the new constitution for Angola and a pastoral message for the African Nations Cup Orange-Angola 2010.
According to the conference program, the participants will also discuss all along the week subjects such as the best living on the national reconstruction day, the Caritas restructiring, the national catechist meeting and the world youth journey.
Crime, delinquency, demolitions, the international covenant of priests and the designation of a national delegate to the international eucharistic congresses of Rome, November 2010 and Durban in 2012 are other subjects high in the agenda of the conference.
At the openning of the meeting, the archbishop of Luanda, Dom Damião Franklin, recalled the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Angola, marking the history of the church and the country and calling for peace, justice and reconciliation.
Don Franklin stressed that the church did not stop calling the attention of the right institutions on the social exclusion and for the mitigation of the gap between rich and poor, particularly at this time that the world economic crisis is almost over.
He rejoiced with the building of various social undertakings by the angolan government and with the repair of roadways, an indication of the country's growth.
