Luanda - At least 101 cases of cholera, with one death in the province of Luanda, were reported in the country from 18-24 February this year, Angop learnt Monday.
The data were released during the weekly meeting of the Control of Cholera Commission, chaired by the Health minister, José Van-Dúnem.
During the said period Luanda recorded 53 cases, Cunene (30), Benguela (21) Uíge (4) nd Lunda Norte (1).
According to the health authorities, from 31 December 2012 to 24 February, of the current year the country reported a cumulative total of 610 cases that resulted in eight deaths.
The northern Uige province led the list of the cases with 286, followed by Cunene with 209 and four deaths.
While Malanje with 27 cases, three deaths.
Compared with the previous week there was an increase of 83 cases, as the figure jumped from17 to 100 patients.
